Prema Javi, listopad 1904.

Napisati knjigu o egzotizmu.

Sa što manje citata.

Argument: paralelizam između odmicanja u prošlost (historicizam) i udaljavanja u prostor (egzotizam).

Proučiti odnos osjetila i egzotizma: vid, nebo. Sluh:glazba. I nadasve njuh.

Okus i dodir .

Seksualni egzotizam.

Vid. Slikari egzotizma.

Osjećaj egzotizma:iznenađenje. Njegovo brzo pjenjenje.

Egzotizam je rado “tropski”. Kokosov orah i olujno nebo.

Malo je polarnog egzotizma.

Geologija.

Towards Java, October 1904.

To write a book about exoticism.

With the least amount of quotes.

Argument: the parallel between regression into the past (historicism) and withdrawal into the space (exoticism).

To study the relationship of the senses and exoticism: sight, sky. Sound: music. And above all the sense of smell.

Taste and touch.

Sexual exoticism.

Sight. The painters of exoticism.

The feel of exoticism: surprise. Its ability to rapidly turn to foam.

Exoticism is easily “tropical”. Coco-nut and stormy sky.

Very little existing polar exocitism.

Geology.

Victor Segalen, Essai sur l’exotisme

Exoticism is in the eye of the beholder.

To the community I offer my own specific logic, my own changed body.

From the community I gain space through which I can embark upon my own journey towards the vanishing point.

With my own distinction I invite the capacity for our exoticism, yours and mine.
