Maud Le Pladec invites you to a new sensory experience, an immersion into the musical matter of the composer Fausto Romitelli. After a musical introduction, with Tom Pauwels playing live Trash TV Trance—a convulsive jewel for electric guitar- you will continue the exploration of Fausto Romitelli’s music with two excerpts from Professor, the first choreographic piece of Maud Le Pladec. Created in 2010, Professor is directly inspired by Professor Bad Trip, a musical composition of the composer Fausto Romitelli for an electronic ensemble. Following the example of this musical trilogy, this new choreographic production is at the crossroad of the contemporary music, alternative rock and ‘popular’ music. Maud Le Pladec offers to embody what is there behind this original music. The clarity, the rigor of the composition or even the aesthetic seriousness of this music, in fact hides « secret doors »: sound saturated, some hypnotic and ritual aspects, a taste for deformity and artificial, hysterical blasting, unbalanced situations… For the interpreters, as for the audience, the issue is to be surprised or even emotionally transformed by the exuberance or dramatic force of the work. “Do I see what I hear? Do I hear what I see?”

Maud Le Pladec was trained in contemporary dance at the CCN of Montpellier directed by Mathilde Monnier. She worked as a performer with Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh, Loïc Touzé, Georges Appaix, Mathilde Monnier, Herman Diephuis and Boris Charmatz. In 2010, she created Professor, which received the Choreographic Revelation prize from the French arts guild, Syndicat de la Critique Française. She created Poetry in 2011, which forms along with Professor a diptych to the music of Fausto Romitelli, and DEMOCRACY in 2013. Alongside these creation projects, she is equally pursuing work as a performer with Boris Charmatz and Mette Ingvartsen.
