Naziv djela:
Materijali za solo VI ili ples “witchumsprung„

Autor: Yaron Maïm
Informacije u performansu: Posebne zahvale Sonia Noyam, Sandra Irsapoullé aka Fu, Freemo, KiAy, Elene Naveriani, Neige Sanchez, Justine Giliberto i Kathy-Ann Tan.

Životopis:
Tinta, pikseli i točkice iskorištene za ispisivanje ovog životopisa tragovi su plesa, nužna manifestacija vrisaka, suza i gnjeva. Ples određen funkcijama i definicijama.

Stranica postaje scena. Proces čitanja je nelinearan i atipičan te ruši tradicionalne norme čitanja.

U prvom satu radionice TASK-ovi su:
Izaberite kratak jedinstveni trenutak. Pisati ćete na dva lista papira. Koristite samo prednju stranu svakog lista.
2. Ispred sebe vidite crteže. Izaberite 3 za početak. Cilj je nacrtati pokret nizom crteža. Pišite i crtajte, režite, lijepite i spajajte crteže na prvoj stranici. Razmišljajte o stranici kao pozornici. Razmišljajte o linearnom i nelinearnom čitanju kroz cijelu stranicu.
Pregovarajte s drugima oko poretka stranica. Budite ljubazni i svima dopustite da sudjeluju, mislite o tišini i bez straha preuzmite inicijativu u pisanju. Ispod zajedničkog zapisa posložite u jednoj ravnini sve naslove, autore i upute.
7. Kao završnu vježbu polako pročitajte sve naslove, autore i upute prije nego pročitate završni zajednički zapis.

Title of the work:
Material for a solo VI or the « witchumsprung » dance.
Author : Yaron Maïm
Performance data : Special thanks to Sonia Noya, Sandra Irsapoullé aka Fu, Freemo, KiAy, Elene Naveriani, Neige Sanchez, Justine Giliberto and Kathy-Ann Tan.

Bio :
The ink, pixels and dots used to write this short biography are traces of a dance, a necessary manifestation of screams, tears and rage. A dance ruled by functions and definitions. I do not want to talk about what I have done before, but rather what I am working on right now – “the witchumsprung dance”. Witchumsprung  \’wɪtʃʊm-ʃprʊŋ\  1. noun. A disruptive dance consisting of poetic segments struck in drawing, sex and memory. Also called « the prefix dance ». 2. verb. To generate transmodal movements which “bifurquent” (change direction) and awaken the ghosts. From the French tongue “ouitchoumchproungue” (sneezing rhythm), commercial English “witch” (harmed healer), dream in German “Umsprung” (simultaneous jump and turn). <http://yayamaim.tumblr.com>

Short description of the work:
«Material for a solo VI – Score co-writing workshop – Pilo-erection» is an intensive two hours high-speed crash workshop. In the first hour, participants co-write a visual score. In the second hour, participants discuss and imagine a collaborative zine based on the visual score. (A zine is a self-published work transmitting artistic and political matter.) Each task is strictly timed; the idea is to go with the first idea and to act fast. The workshop is inspired by Christian Marclay’s piece “to be continued” (2016) which twists the comics codes to make a partition. It uses sampling, remix and collage. The page becomes a performative space. The reading process is transgressive and non-linear; it breaks the traditional norms of reading.

The workshop TASKS of the first hour are : 1. Extract 5 min of a performance you have done or seen. Select a short precise moment. You will work on 2 pages. Use only the recto side of each page. 2. You have printed images in front of you. Choose 3 images to begin with. The idea is to draw a movement with a sequence of images. Write and draw by cutting, pasting, taping the images together on the first page. Think about the page as a performative space. Think about the linear or non-linear reading process throughout the page. Traditional linear reading in our cultural context would be to scan from left to right and from top to bottom across the page. Consider temporality, rhythm, sound, scale, movement, loop, repetition, ending, body and space. 3. Give a simple and direct 3-step instruction on a second sheet of paper about how to read your score. 4. Write a title and an author (or not). 5. When the 30 minutes have passed, take your 2 pages, the score, title, author and instructions and put them in the middle of the space. Create two separate zones : one with all the scores, and the other with the title, author and instructions. 6. In the next 5 minutes, co-write, with all the participants, a score that can be read from left to right by assembling all the pages in a line. Negotiate with everyone about the order of the pages. Give space graciously to everyone to co-write, think about silence and take clumsy writing initiatives. Under the co-written score, assemble, in a line, all the titles, authors and instructions. 7. As a closing exercise, take your time to read all the titles, authors and instructions before reading the final co-written score.
