KRITIČKI PARKOUR – ARHIVALIJE

RokVevar
Ksenija (Xenia) Hribar i Plesni teatar Ljubljana

Gost: Rok Vevar

Slovenski povjesničar plesa i arhivist Rok Vevar, predstavit će svoje istraživanje o radu Ksenije Hribar, plesačice, koreografkinje i plesne aktivistkinje Ksenije Hribar (1938-1999), centralne figure povijesti suvremenog plesa u Sloveniji. Sesijom Arhivalije, ostvareno u suradnji s Nomadskim plesnim institutom,  želimo potaknuti diskusiju o potrebi istraživačkog i arhivskog rada unutar plesne struke te uvidom u građu i metodologiju ovog višegodišnjeg projekta, predstaviti potencijale istraživanja u plesu. Razgovor moderira Iva Nerina Sibila.

Projekt vodi plesna umjetnica i kritičarka Iva Nerina Sibila u suradnji s kritičarkama Majom Đurinović, Katjom Šimunić i Jelenom Mihelčić.

Critical Parkour

Archivalia
Ksenija (Xenia) Hribar and Dance Threatre Ljubljana
Guest: Rok Vevar

Slovene historian of dance and archivist Rok Vevar will present his research on the work of Ksenija Hribar (1938-1999), dancer, choreographer and dance activist, the central figure of contemporary dance history in Slovenia. Her biography is a series of political, social, aesthetic, and cultural contradictions which she embodied, with or without intention. We would like to motivate a discussion on the need for explorative and archive work within dance profession with the session Archivalia, realized in collaboration with the Nomad Dance Institute. Furthermore, we would like to present potentials of research in dance with the insight into the structure and methodology of this project, which has been ongoing for several years now. The discussion is moderated by Iva Nerina Sibila.

Critical Parkour is a series of meetings of dance critics, artists, and audience. It has been proceeding in collaboration with dance festivals, artists, or independently. The aim of the project is to move from one dance centre to another within Croatia and to motivate therefore growth of audience, communication between artists and the audience, articulation of choreographic and performative practices, as well as articulation of the process of watching as spectator. Format of the meetings changes, depending on the context; consequently, it is possible to have open discussions to introduce peculiarities and works of an artist to the audience, educational and professional discussions or lectures on certain actual topics, meetings with eminent foreign guests, a workshop teaching how to write a critique, etc. Topics are results of the relationship between dance art – criticism – audience, and they are chosen and prepared by project supervisors.

Critical Parkour is part of Plesnascena.hr portal programme, active on national level, a place of continuous writing on dance production in Croatia in form of reviews and analysis. The project is headed by dance artist and critic Iva Nerina Sibila, in collaboration with critics Maja Đurinović, Katja, Šimunić and Jelena Mihelčić.

Critical Parkour is active outside Zagreb, as an effort to decentralize dance scene, so the meetings were held in Karlovac (Karlovac Dance Festival), Varaždin (Days of Contemporary Dance in Varaždin), Rijeka (Dance Week Festival), and Zagreb (in collaboration with Platform HR, Zagreb Dance Centre, and the Croatian Centre ITI).
